To help you make an assessment of the condition of each collectable offered we aim to bring you the best in photographic image quality so that you can get a good idea of the condition of items listed for sale. Each item has an image with the listing and there are further images in the Product Gallery for many of the items.
  Manufacturer Reference
To help you identify the product for sale the manufacturers original product code is listed. Where the product code cannot be identified you will see "N/A"
  Condition Code
These condition codes are designed to help us as much as to help you! We place a high priority on this to get it right and to make it easy for you to tell if an item has packaging or not. We can quickly place items in specific condition categories as a result of our clear and positive condition guidance. Products normally have at least one condition code which relates to the product itself. If the product has packaging then there will be a second condition code which relates to the packaging. Where there are two codes the first one is for the product. Condition codes are normally placed at the end of each detailed listing description.

  Codes for products
A+ As New - easy and self explanatory. We cannot distinguish between this item for sale and the condition of a new item as it was sold when first released.
A Mint - perfect condition. This item looks as new and runs as new, with signs of minimal use, normally these being marks on the wheels where the item has been running on track. The item is unblemished aside from this.

A- Near mint - almost perfect condition. Only minor imperfections that are not visible without very close inspection and would not be visible when running the item on your model railway at home. Examples being very minor pitting on wheels axles. Structure 100% and transfers 100%.

B+ Excellent condition - the item has had very careful use with only small imperfections that, whilst being visible, do not detract from the overall appearance. The body structure will be 100% with transfers showing minor wear with visibility between 75% and 100%.

B Good condition - the item has had more general use with obvious imperfections that, whilst being visible, do not detract from the overall appearance. The item is complete with original parts and the body structure will be 100% with maybe one minor structural imperfection and transfers showing some wear with visibility between 75% and 100%.

B- Fair condition - the item has had general use with imperfections that are visible in the body but would be acceptable to an operator of model railway or a collector if the item is rare. The item is complete with original parts and is somewhere between B and C in classification.
C Average condition - the model has seen heavy use with major imperfections in the body and may contain parts that are not original. The item may have a buffer missing or a damaged coupling and with mild pitting on metal parts. They may have suffered rubbing marks as a result of storage. There will be no minor parts missing however that cannot easily be replaced with spares. The transfer wear will be between 50% and 75%. The item if a loco will be a runner but may not be a smooth performer. These items will normally be offered at a lower price but taking into account collectability. Occasionally a very desirable item may have a price that would suggest it should be a category B item or even higher!

D Poor condition -  many faults, parts missing, possibly repainted. Play worn. Possibly a non runner. The big advantage of course is that these items will be very cheap, good for spares and possibly repairable.

  Codes for boxes
A Excellent - box has survived almost new. Labels in good condition. The box may have the original price on it and inner packaging intact. A box otherwise excellent but with inner packaging missing would be rated as "A-". A perfect mint box would be rated "A+"

B Good - box shows some signs of slight wear on corners or box creases but is intact with all flaps. Inner packaging may be missing or a box window may be damaged. If the box in this category has inner packaging then it would be rated "B+"

C Fair - box has some damage, inner packaging missing, inner flaps missing, but outer flaps complete. Box may have had repairs that do not detract too much from the overall box appearance.

D Poor - box has missing outer flaps, tears and may need general repair or has been repaired poorly.

+ or - after a box classification suggests better or worse than classification suggests.
  DETAILED Description
This is a description of the product with additional information that may not be clear from the photographs and giving further information in connection with the condition codes if this is required.
  Price AND SHIPPING COSTS
The price shown is the listed price of the item for sale and is the price you will pay at the checkout but does not include the packaging and shipping cost which is shown separately at the checkout. Shipping is calculated by weight and each product has a net weight for calculation purposes. Shipping and packaging costs take into account the net weight of the product, the weight of the packaging, the cost of the packaging and other minor overheads. The price takes into account all known factors so that an item that is "A, A" (Mint, Excellent Box), for example, will have a much higher price than an item that is D (Poor condition, no box). But then there is always the rarity factor!
