These
are pictures of virtually the entire range of Tri-ang Super 4 Track
produced from the year 1962 to the early 1970's. The track retained
the steel rail of the Series 3 range to allow the Magnethesion of
the locomotives to work. This track is popular among
enthusiasts and collectors who operate the Tri-ang locomotives and
rolling stock with course scale wheels. The points are considered to
be very neat with simple and reliable operating gear. I have found
that modern locomotives with fine scale wheels will also run on
Super 4 track. The track has a certain strength not found in current
fine scale versions which also makes it ideal for children to use.
It is possible to obtain an adaptor track to link this track to
current Hornby track although this is not in current production.
With a little bit of work it is possible to make a home made
adaptor.
