The Tri-ang Society exhibition layout of Miles
Rowland (red top of course!), the founder of the Tri-ang Society.
You also may spot the founder of Vintage Model Trains on the right!
The layout attracted a lot of interest and The Tri-ang Society sold
the last few of a special limited edition wagon produced for them by
Hornby at the Margate factory before all wagon production moved to
China. Some lucky folk now have examples of the last 100 or so
wagons produced by Hornby in Britain. Why not visit the website for
details of The Tri-ang Society and how to join.
Dave Coddington's superb Transcontinental
Exhibition Layout made an appearance at the Warley Show and crowds
were several rows deep, which is normal when Dave's layout makes an
appearance. The Tri-ang locos ran over the two days of the show
without any trouble at all which is not bad when you consider that
many of the locos operating first emerged from the factory 40 years
ago or more! And even more amazing is that much of the rolling stock
looked as good as it ran.
A selection of rare overseas Tri-ang
Transcontinental locomotives and railcars that were on display.
Overseas Tri-ang customers could purchase a
"Giant Suspension Bridge" (aka "Grand Suspension Bridge") and a pair
of these side by side formed the focal point of the Tri-ang
Transcontinental exhibition layout.
